Welcome to the Pacific Open Heart Association.

Providing volunteer hospital visitations, encouragement, and community support for heart patients and families across the lower mainland and Fraser valley.

A Community Built on Experience, Compassion, and Support

The Pacific Open Heart Association (POHA) provides a volunteer hospital visitation program supporting heart patients at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, and other Lower Mainland hospitals prior to surgery transfer. Our members offer non-medical advice, encouragement, and peer support before and after cardiovascular procedures. Membership is open to heart patients, their families, and members of the public who support POHA’s mission of awareness, guidance, and community support.

Compassionate Peer Support in Hospitals

POHA volunteers visit heart patients in hospitals throughout the Lower Mainland, offering encouragement and shared experiences before and after cardiovascular procedures. Our teams support patients at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, and additional hospitals prior to transfer for surgery.
